Our hire fleet features the latest short wheelbase T6.1 Volkswagen Transporters — widely regarded as one of the best camper conversions available. Each vehicle comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 110 BHP engine, providing plenty of power for every journey.
All our campers are the newest T6.1 models, equipped with air conditioning for warm summer days and diesel heatersto keep you cosy on chilly nights. Cruise control ensures effortless long drives, while reversing sensors make parking a breeze. For entertainment and connectivity, every camper includes App Connect, CarPlay, DAB radio, Bluetooth, and USB-C charging ports — everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable trip.
Inside, you’ll find a swivel double passenger seat, a comfortable double rock and roll bed, a gas hob for cooking, fridge/freezer, sink, dining table, and electric hook-up. All of this is housed beneath the premium Skyline Aurora pop-top roof, providing extra headroom and added comfort throughout your camper.
Why hire with Tyne Campers?
There are lots of VW Campervan hire rental companies in England with lots of different types of VW Campervan conversions. Whilst all of them may offer short-wheel based campervans for hire, not many of them will offer new T6.1 models and fewer still will offer quality conversions.
We hired a VW camper for a week and drove the southwest Scotland 300 route. The van was brand new and had everything we needed, fridge, sink, gas jobs, pans, plates etc. We drove about 540 miles which cost us £65 in petrol to fill the tank back up so it was surprisingly economical. Communication was really easy and the collection and drop off process was quick, we were even able to collect the camper earlier than expected so got our holiday underway sooner. We will definitely hire from Tyne campers again 🙂
